Individual Tuition
This is the most bespoke programme of tuition available. Conducted either online or in person at my premises, I tailor each session according to the student’s wishes and needs. This can take the form of a study of a set text, or may be skills-based. The benefits of 1-to-1 tuition is the immediate feedback the student receives within the lesson itself, and the adaptive teaching approach used to address misunderstandings.
Pricing for 1-to-1 tuition:
-
KS3 (Year 7, 8 and 9) - £35 for 55 minutes
-
GCSE (Year 10 and 11) - £40 for 55 minutes
-
A-level - £45 for 55 minutes
Group Tuition
Current research indicates that group and 1-to-1 tuition have identical benefits - while students participating in 1-to-1 tuition make 5 months progress, participants of group tuition make 4 months (Education Endowment Foundation, 2021).
Group tuition allows students to practise their oracy skills - a fundamental in improving their writing - while promoting the idea that English, or any form of learning, can be a social and exciting experience. Group sessions are still incredibly bespoke and meaningful, as I take care to ensure students are grouped according to similar needs.
I offer group tuition to KS3 students, and it is according to year group.
-
Year 7 group sessions - £25 for 55 minutes
-
Year 8 group sessions - £25 for 55 minutes
-
Year 9 group sessions - £25 for 55 minutes
Please note, group sessions will only run if two or more students have signed up. Please check Terms and Conditions for further information.
Courses
As many GCSE students follow the same exam board and/or study the same texts, I offer courses which cover some of the most frequently-requested content. The courses are available for regular 1-to-1 tutees and new students to sign up to, and you can join as many different courses as you require. The capacity for these courses is limited to 5 students, so students will still receive highly individualised feedback and support while benefitting from interaction with peers who are at a similar stage of their studies.

All courses are delivered online across six weeks. Unlike 1-to-1 sessions, these are 1 hour 15 minutes, to allow for discussion time. Currently, courses are only available to students studying for their GCSEs. All courses are charged at £150.
Courses currently available include:

-
English Language - fiction skills
-
English Language - non-fiction skills
-

Can’t see a course that would you benefit from? Do get in contact and I’ll see if it’s a popular one that I can look to add in the future! Alternatively, do consider whether 1-to-1 tuition may better suit your needs.
Please note, courses will only run if two or more students have signed up. Please check Terms and Conditions for further information.
Workshops
Have you got a resit exam coming up? Perhaps your latest round of mocks have highlighted that you have gaps in your knowledge of a set text? Maybe you just feel unsure of how to revise for English?
Workshops are an intensive form of tuition offered in-person at my premises on specific weekends and over the school holidays. Each workshop focuses on a specific paper or text. You are welcome to join as many workshops as you require. Workshops can be a standalone experience, or can be supplemented with courses or 1-to-1 tuition.
